Board of Health appoints Lauren Saunders as health director

Board of Health · Meeting of April 6, 2026

GARDNER — The Gardner Board of Health appointed Lauren Saunders as health director at its Monday meeting. Saunders, formerly the board's agent, was approved unanimously. The board heard reports on infrastructure repairs at the landfill, housing emergencies including a fire-displaced family on Emerald Street and a condemned unit on Leamy Street, and a gas-related closure at Price Chopper's prepared foods department that reopened after three days.

A total of five new septic systems are under review, with construction expected to resume as weather permits.
