Gardner City Council approved a $205,127.08 salary transfer on July 6 to implement compensation updates. Finance Committee Chair Alek Dernalowicz reported the council voted 9-0 to move funds from the Mayor's Unclassified Salary Reserve to support non-union compensation schedule changes, including a new Special Municipal Employee designation allowing Health Inspector Babin to serve as Transfer Station Safety Program Development and Compliance Coordinator. The council placed new City Clerk Jennifer Pelavin at Step 1 with 4.5 years of experience credit, per Council President George Tyros' recommendation.

The council advanced the compensation ordinance to First Printing (amended to remove the Golf Administrative Assistant position), approved modifications to the Waterford Community Center, and reauthorized a continuing intermunicipal animal control agreement with Hubbardston through 2029.
