City Council places Maki Park investigation report on record

Gardner City Council organizes; investigates downtown park cost overruns. The Council elected Councillor George C. Tyros as president with eight votes in favor, after Tyros recused himself from voting at the State Ethics Commission's direction.

The Council unanimously placed on file an investigation into the Maki Park project, which revealed the park cost close to three times its original $180,000 appropriation. President Tyros cited design changes and financial management failures accomplished without Council transparency or oversight.
