GARDNER — The Conservation Commission continued two major permit hearings and approved annual membership dues. The board voted 4-0 to continue the Wetlands Resource Development Area hearing from resident Ayman Ibrahim at 282 Brookside Drive, where he seeks permission to remove trees; commissioners requested Ibrahim flag the specific trees for inspection before July 27. The commission also voted 4-0 to continue review of a Notice of Intent from GAAHMA at 208 Coleman St for a new well installation within a 100-foot wetland buffer zone, with both state DEP and GAAHMA supporting the proposed location.
The board approved $400 for annual Massachusetts Association for Conservation Commissions membership dues. In updates, the commission received $300,000 in additional funding for the Nature Trail's remaining 1.5 miles, to be engineered by Tighe & Bond, and noted approval of parking lot and playground upgrades at Ovila Park by contractor Mass Broken Stone, with completion expected by November.
