GARDNER — The Gardner Conservation Commission ratified an emergency certification for beaver dam breaches on LaChance Street and Mahoney Brook and approved a Notice of Intent for duplex construction on Conant Street. Conservation Agent Justin Enright reported that beavers at the site remain active and may be designated a nuisance population. The commission voted 3-1 to deny an emergency certification from Beaver Solutions for the Perley Brook Culvert, which exceeds 80 percent failure rate but does not meet state Department of Environmental Protection standards for emergency permitting.

The commission voted 4-0 to confirm Determination of Applicability findings for the Providence and Worcester Railroad and reported a Department of Transportation grant approval for $2,014,885.25 for culvert work at Keyes Road on Wilder Brook.
