Economic and Community Development Committee approves CDBG steering recommendations
Economic and Community Development Committee · Meeting of March 11, 2026
Gardner's Economic and Community Development Committee unanimously recommended approval of FY2026 Community Development Block Grant steering committee recommendations at its March 11 meeting, with Councillor Elizabeth Kazinskas and Councillor Dana M. Heath voting in favor. The recommendations allocate $875,000 in federal block grant funds across social services, infrastructure, and administrative costs, drawing from FY2026 appropriations, prior-year reallocations, and recovered funds.
The full City Council will vote on the recommendations at its April 6, 2026 meeting. The committee also directed Director Jason Stevens to compile supporting documentation on the Rear Main Street Redevelopment Project for council review before final approval of a proposed resolution redirecting prior authorized funds to cover increased electrical work costs.
