GARDNER — Commission voted unanimously to start fall rates August 31, amid informal golf lesson liability concerns. Alek Dernalowicz moved to begin the special rates on that date in a 5-0 vote. Members raised concerns about informal golf lessons offered by unaffiliated instructors, citing liability, insurance, and legality issues; Dan Berry was asked to contact the City Solicitor for guidance.
The commission approved FY27 year-to-date financials unanimously and noted that driving range netting has been ordered for approximately $9,000 with phased installation planned. Varsity high school golf teams are capped at 12 members with restricted practice schedules.
