Historical Commission · Meeting of February 17, 2026
Gardner Historical Commission approves FY2027 budget authorization. Chair Chris Pera and members Scott Huntoon and Alan Agnelli unanimously authorized the submission of the commission's budget narrative and funding request to the Mayor by February 20, 2026. The commission also learned that the Mayor's appointments of Ottavio Canu, Linda Rice, and Marcia White have been submitted to the City Council for interview scheduling this month.
Chair Pera announced the commission will be ready to act at its March meeting on proposed Rules and Regulations Regarding Historic Preservation Special Permits Advisory Opinions, though he opposes a provision requiring abutters' notices. Ongoing projects include assessment of Old Burying Ground conditions, updates to the MACRIS historic inventory, and planning a volunteer training session for both Gardner High School history students and Brewer Center volunteers.
