Historical Commission · Meeting of September 15, 2026

GARDNER — The Gardner Historical Commission said it would prioritize preserving the historic 1772 House at the Municipal Golf Course. Chair Chris Pera noted the pre-revolutionary structure at 154 Eaton Street was built by Joseph Bacon, an early settler, and has been listed on the Massachusetts Cultural Resource Inventory System since 1977. The Commission also voted unanimously to file a Public Records Request with the City Auditor seeking the balance and transaction history since 2013 of the Sale of Real Estate Proceeds Account, a potential funding source for Old Burying Ground restoration.
