Policy Subcommittee advances six district policies to full School Committee.
School Subcommittees · Meeting of April 29, 2026
Gardner Public Schools Policy Subcommittee voted unanimously to advance six revised or new policies for May first read before the full School Committee. Mrs. Anne Hurst, Chair, with members Mrs.
Rachel Cormier and Mr. Paul Cormier, approved sending Policy GBEC (Drug Free Workplace), Policy GBJ (Personnel Records), Policy GCRD (Tutoring for Pay), Policy ID (School Day), Policy JKAA (Physical Restraint Policy and Procedures), and the new Policy KBG (Parent Advisory Councils) forward with recommended edits. The subcommittee tabled four policies including EBB (First Aid) and IKF (Graduation Requirements) for future review, and determined two existing policies redundant to state regulation and district practice.
Dr. Catherine Goguen, Chief Academic Officer, will present revised language on Policy ADDA (Background Checks) after consultation with the Gardner Education Association.
