Gardner School Committee unanimously approves high school program of studies and school improvement plans. The committee also ratified six warrants totaling $2,118,299.57 and accepted a $75,000 scholarship donation from First Congregational Church. Finance Subcommittee reported an immediate projected deficit of $2,880,980, driven by $900,000 in salary increases, $650,000 rise in out-of-district tuition, $700,000 increase in collaborative costs, and $1.3 million in indirect costs, mainly health insurance, combined with last year's $800,000 deficit.
The district received positive reviews from the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, including no findings in a Special Education Compliance and Civil Rights review.
