Traffic Commission · Meeting of September 8, 2026

Gardner Traffic Commission voted unanimously on two parking amendments at its September 8 meeting. The five-member commission, led by Deputy Chief Nicholas Maroni, approved relocating a no-parking sign on Chestnut Street at Temple Street to accommodate one vehicle and improve sight lines for turning traffic, and designated two handicap parking spots—one on Park Street at the crosswalk and bike path access, and a temporary spot in the new park gravel lot—both cleared by the Architectural Access Board. Both measures will be forwarded to the city council for ordinance approval.

The commission also scheduled a special meeting for September 29 at 9 a.m. to vote on whether to make permanent a 60-day stop sign trial at Cottage Street and Park Street, set to expire October 23.
